Dawn Patrol 13

To McNeil Field Barstow Road E. Moline

Hosted by new club member Robert and Vickie Bianchi of Rock Island, IL.

They spent a lot of time getting ready for our arrival and we thank them for their willingness to sponsor a breakfast.  A great asset to Club #188.

Kevin Lee's plane was at Erie this morning.

Jim has to gas up before flying. Cloudy starless night very dark.

It was a little foggy, but not less than a mile or so.

Robert by his hanger with his Quicksilver inside.

Dawn was kinda subtle with light fog.

First in was Kevin Lee. Great landing but gopher hole broke cable.

JR was right behind him. Kinda blurry here.

So here is Jim landing.

Joining up with Jeannine Eden and Ed Vens we head to the hanger.

A warming fire was blazing inside plus a gas grill.

Vickie and Robert had fixed bacon & eggs with rolls muffins and coffee.

Neil Reith flew in with Kevin but with a broken cable had to hitch a ride back.

A lot of memories at this old airfield. Time for a drumroll.

JOHN KLOOS SHOWED UP! He flew out of this airfield Years and Years and Years ago.

Group Picture.

We stayed at a couple hundred feet coming back.

And it was IFR "I Follow Roads" going home.

Jim and Chris (friend of Jim from when he lived in Viola, IL) at Erie.

Cindy Ladage was waiting at the airpark when we returned.

Cindy is a children's book author.

Jim's strobe flashed just as I took this picture.

Cindy is all smiles as they return from her flight.

In the clubhouse was larry Espe. Neil seems to be telling one of his tales.
