Flight 3

July 19 2003 To Ed and Mary Jane Vens' airstrip Calamus Iowa.

You can tell Des and Sue Wisson were in a hurry this morning. It was their first DP.

Jim Robinson preflighting for the morning flight.

Steve and Darlene Bornhoeft and Mike Housenga taxi to 3 6

Des and Sue got in close for a photo opt.

Look at the maze artwork in the trees.

Getting crowded down there?

Everything looking good at Ed's.

O.K. so there's not a lot of parking spots, it adds to the charm.

Quite a crowd forms as everyone lands. 15 planes in all.

Ed goes over to greet Ken Perron.

A Quicksilver and a Quickfix?

Another of Ed's toys.

Breakfast is served.

Say Cheese everyone...

Time to head out.

DeWitt Iowa. That's Rt. 30 running east west.

Erie Airpark in the sights.

Sue Robinson meets us on her scooter.

Ron Mitchell flew in with his gyro. And the day has just begun.

Flight 3½?

Jim is out early gassing up his plane

About a 9 mph wind out of the south west.

The town of Erie....

Dawn was a little less magnificant than normal but still beautiful.

After flying around Erie we went back to Erie AP. Oh did I mention that Jim Robinson and Dennis Dyer were the only 2 flying.

On final Pegasus was being pushed out.

Neil Reith with Pegasus.

Neil has quite a knee board system set up.

A closer look. We will have to call him ROBO Pilot.

Sue Dyer had made coffee stopped at HyVee and got donuts brought juice and was going to meet everyone at Geneseo. We called her cell and diverted her

Next Dawn Patrol

These flyers get up pretty darn early..

Sunset Patrol? Some of our more senior flyers (that have lost the get-up and go) would rather fly later in the day so plans are now in the works for a evening twilight landing (after civil sunset) at our home fields. Help us work out the details. contact Jim with your ideas. Then "lets Boogie".
