Where will we fly next?

Dawn Patrol 5

To Savanna, Illinois Tri-Township Airport

Des Wisson in gas shed topping off The Deuce.

Final prep before T/O.

Daybreak at 800 ft. What an experience.

Dan Dawson went zooming by so I clicked his picture.

We dropped down a bit to get this shot of Dan.

Des & Sue Wisson come up along side.

The Mississippi has some of it's widest areas here.

On the ground Kathy Housenga has pastries and juice and milk for everyone.

Food always attracts these guys like a moth to a flame.

Had 11 planes show up this morning.

JR takes a few moments to rest, digest that jumbo pastry.

Kev and Christine Lee.

Really nice parking area here, just no people.

Ed Vens getting ready to taxi out. Then others followed.

But then Doug from Wisconsin showed up. He built his Challenger in Erie.

He must have taken the route over Iraq.

The last 4 planes finally leave after visiting for 15 min.

Doug heads to Foster for gas and we head to Erie. IL white elephant. Empty prison.

What's this? Some of the group were going to Prophetstown for western days

Mike Housenga made up a chart for the clubhouse with mile markers. Nice shorts Mike!!

Dawn Patrol 6

To Maquoketa, Iowa

A little windy and overcast. Ken Perron takes his plane around once for a check.

Des & Sue decide no go. As well as Dennis Dyer.

Ken lands and thinks it's O.K.

Bob Kuhns lands and told Denny he would take him over.

Bob Kuhns...

Ken Perron left 10 minutes ahead of us but power prevails and we pass him.

Maquetoda, Iowa Airport.

Jeannine, Ed Vens, Don Berridge and Marty from Dewitt, Iowa were there.

After dounts and coffee Don Berridge took Denny home.

With a headwind the return trip took a little longer and Kenshowed up.

Ken got fuel so he is ready for another flight.

Don left and the airpark was empty. Really strange being empty.

The red Challenger is Marty Spies of DeWitte, or outside of town. Has his own strip.

Here is Don Berridge's Kit Fox.

Ken Perron joined the patrol after missing Savanna flight, were glad he's back.

Here is one Marty took of Jeannie going to Maquoketa.

O.K. Bob flipped the Luscombes on landing. He and Dennis got out and walked away.

Here it is in the main hanger Monday. It's in Geneseo Mon. evening.
