GOOD MORNING ERIE AIRPARK!! Happy 2006. The day started out great
Sue
and I got up at 6 am and started the breakfast burritos. As Sue was
frying the sausage ( 2 pounds) I went in town and picked up 3 doz.
"energy biscuits"...or donuts as they are known to some.
As I was returning home I saw Ted and Marilu Wink leaving the
runway...First plane off the runway in 2006. Not to be outdone, I
jumped in my plane and launched at 6:39 am, did the fly by... and landed
on runway 1-8 at 6:45. I was the first plane to "land" at Erie Airpark
in
2006. However Marilu takes the prize as she was the first woman to take
off and land at Erie Airpark in 2006. She wins! Denny and
Des rolled out their planes but it got a little too windy for them to
fly. They'll be out a little earlier next year.
Sue and I had a great turn out this year. We would like to thank
everyone who took the time to stop in and celebrate the new year with
us.
We had good weather and had 10 planes fly in today. We were also
Buzzed by Ken Perron in his new Cessna. On landing at his home field he
drove back and joined us all. Dan Dawson landed his Cessna and came in
for a spell. Too many people to mention right now, I'll try and name
all the pictures later.
We had Challenger movies on all day, from the last 3 years.
And we watched the "Sprit of Adventure Flight" from 1993.
In all we had a good day and shut her down around 2:30. We ate over 30
Breakfast Burrito's, 2 dozen donuts and ate most of the Chili and Erie
hot
dogs. Along with 2 gallons of coffee and orange juice. Put us on your
list of things to do next year, as we will do it again 2007!
