Buy A Challenger

May 8-14

Thursday 12th

Thursday was nice and washing the plane was the thing to do.

Greg Martin cleaning his half of the plane.

Yea that's Larry's side.

Robert Bianchi also was in the cleaning mode.

Sue in her painting garb.

Hook up the flatbed for a Challenger run.

But while we go play work continues on Ron Wells' plane

When we walk into the plant there are lots of airplanes.

Everybody was working hard.

Paul Goulet wouldn't let me take his picture.

Here's Des (R) helping load a fuselage.

Then we load up a second Challenger. Saves a trip to town.

Only one nosecone Bob already has his painted.

I had to sneak around and catch Paul by surprise.

Bob Donley and his Challenger. What a great day for him.

We made it back to Erie and unloaded both planes. The day has just started.

Bob Donley's page.

We got back from the factory and Denny Dyer and Jim Robinson got a ride in a Robinson R44 Helicopter.

I don't know about you all out there in cyber land but,  flying in a helicopter has been my dream for years.  Today thanks to Lyle I got to go up!  This was not just a  25 dollar chopper ride, we actually went somewhere.  I had no idea that a windy day would feel sooo good flying.  We had 25+ winds and it seemed to only make the R44 fly Better!  Could have been the pilot too.  I could never afford to fly a helicopter let alone own one.  This was a dream come true.  Lyle asked the day before if I would like to go over to Clinton Airport to get fuel in the R44 and he told me I could bring a friend.  I called Dennis Dyer, we have been friends for over 25 years, and asked if he would like to take the hop with us.  He was there in a flash and had his camera.  Check out the pictures.  Thanks Lyle for making a dream come true!  Jim, at an Eerie place.

Jim was looking over the gauges.

And very quickly we were airborne.

Flew over the runway and were ascending quickly.

Crosswinds were over 25 mph.

Ride was pleasant, no bouncing around like a Challenger on a windy day.

Speed at 100 mph ground speed about 114.

Arrived at Clinton Airport in about 12 minutes.

Fueled up both tanks.

The low level flight is really great.

Crossed over the Mississippi going home.

There's EAP just to the right of the compass.

Jim was having a ball. He has always wanted to fly a Helicopter.

O.K. Jim you can get out now.. Jim.

He's out now, sorta...
