Winter flying time and I know a great addition to any heater. It's cheap and easy to install. It's a bilge blower and it really warms things up in the cockpit. In fact you will have to shut it off quite often if you dress too warmly. check out one at eBay. In the search bar type "marine bilge blower" 3" for standard dryer exhaust pipe.

Lexan covers to put over the holes you have to cut, when installing the wing struts.  Just cut a lexan square with a small slot and slide it over the hole.  Hold it in place with 2 pop rivets.  Wes Bolds came up with this idea. It works. Thanks Wes!

I worked for NASCAR for years and a trick that we used to do to polish tubes was to wrap a big soft rope around the tube. Put the polish on the rope or the tube either one, just so it gets on the rope eventually. Wrap the rope around the tube as in the picture and "see saw" the rope back and forth. You can move the rope left to right as you go and get the entire tube polished. It's a whole lot easier than using a polishing pad because it works fast and easy. If you've got a real corroded tube to do use a "rough twine" and it'll polish up like new.  Choose your rope just like you choose your sandpaper.  I hope this little trick will save you some work someday. take care....    David Graves

Bending Aluminum

When bending aluminum it is best to heat (briefly) before the bend is made.

When this is done there will be no cracks along the bend line.

On Tubing rotate and heat but only for 15 - 20 seconds.

When you flatten there will not be cracks in tube.

Keeping the nose wheel straight is easy.  A recent hard landing that bent the gear, never hurt the fabric.
